Mazarine Energy B.V. (“Mazarine Energy”, “we”, “us”) respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal data we collect through our website mazarine-energy.com, why we collect it and what rights you have.
1. Who we are
Mazarine Energy B.V., Lange Voorhout 31, 2514 EC The Hague, the Netherlands, is responsible for your personal data as the controller under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
2. What personal data we collect
We only collect personal data that you give us, or that our website needs in order to work:
- Contact form: your first and last name, email address, phone number, the topic and office you select, the subject of your message and the message itself.
- Technical data: when you visit our website, our servers automatically record technical information, such as your IP address, the date and time of your visit, the pages you view, and your browser and device type.
We do not ask for sensitive personal data, such as information about your health, so please do not include it in your message. Please also do not send your CV through the form; apply through our Careers page instead. To report a compliance concern, use our Ethics and Compliance Portal.
3. Why we use your data
We use your personal data only for these purposes:
- To answer your message. We read your message and pass it to the right person at the office you select. Our legal basis is our legitimate interest in responding to people who contact us (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
- To run and protect our website. We use technical data to deliver the website, keep it secure and fix problems. Our legal basis is our legitimate interest in a secure, working website (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
- To meet legal obligations and protect our rights. For example, to handle privacy requests or lawful requests from authorities (Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR), or to establish or defend legal claims (our legitimate interest, Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
Using the contact form is voluntary. If you do not provide the required details, we cannot answer your message.
We do not use your data for profiling or for automated decisions that significantly affect you.
4. Who can see your data
- Our staff: only the people who need your message to answer it.
- Our local offices: if you select Bucharest or Tunis, we forward your message to the group company that runs that office.
- Service providers: a small number of providers host our website and support our IT systems. They may only use your data on our instructions and under a written agreement.
- Authorities and advisers: we share data with authorities, courts or our professional advisers only when the law requires it or to protect our legal rights.
We do not share your data with anyone else.
5. International transfers
If you select our Tunis office, your message is handled by our team in Tunisia. Some of our IT support and service providers may also access data from outside the European Economic Area (EEA). In all cases, your data is protected by the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses or another transfer mechanism recognised under the GDPR.
6. How long we keep your data
- Messages: up to 12 months after our last contact with you, unless we need them longer, for example because your message leads to a business relationship or because the law requires it.
- Technical data: up to 12 months, unless we need it longer to investigate a security incident.
- Privacy requests: up to two years after we have handled your request, so that we can show we handled it properly.
7. How we protect your data
We protect your personal data with appropriate technical and organisational measures, such as encrypted connections and strict access controls, and we review these measures regularly.
8. Cookies
Our website only uses a technical cookie that is strictly necessary for it to work reliably. It expires after 30 days and, under Dutch law, does not need your consent. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings.
9. Your rights
Under the GDPR, you have the right to:
- access the personal data we hold about you;
- correct your data if it is wrong or incomplete;
- delete your data;
- restrict how we use your data.
Your right to object
You can object at any time to our use of your data based on our legitimate interests (see section 3). We will then stop, unless we have compelling legitimate grounds that override your interests, or need the data for a legal claim.
How to make a request
Use our contact form and choose the topic “Privacy”, or write to us at the address in section 12. We answer within one month and may first ask you to confirm your identity.
10. Links to other websites
Our website links to other websites, such as our Ethics and Compliance Portal, our recruitment pages and LinkedIn. This policy does not apply to those websites, so please read their own privacy information. Our share and directions buttons are simple links: nothing is sent to other websites unless you click them.
